Incorrect invoices???

I Just got my etoll bill for going to and from the airport on 4th December sans etag - passing through the starling toll at 05.07 on the way to OR Tambo and Loerie at 18.19 on the way back. The invoice is R32.42 for going through just 1 gantry each way. This is discounted to R14.42 if I pay by 14th Jan.

Out of interest I went onto the SANRAL etoll calculator page on their website and for the same journey at the same time and day, this calculated my costs as R11.14 before discount and R10.03 if paid by 14th Jan.

As I was going past Brightwater Common on Thursday, I called into their customer service centre to enquire why the difference.

The supervisor advised me that it was because I had not paid within 7 days of travel.

I explained that I couldn't pay it earlier as I had not received an invoice and so had no idea how much it was. She then told me that I should have driven to their centre to enquire how much the toll was and then pay it at the cheaper rate.

REALLY - I must spend R18 in petrol to drive there and pay a R10.03 toll. SANRAL really are delusional. I wish my customers would pay me before I send them an invoice.
