In December 2012, my partner and I signed an Affidavit that we were living together and requested that my TV licence be cancelled. During 2013, I received 3 reminders to pay my TV licence and each time I re-send my original e-mail requesting for the cancellation. Of course, I never received any reponse. Today, my partner tried to pay his TV licence for the forthcoming year, but could not log on to the website using his details. On telephoning, we were told that his licence had been cancelled and mine was still active. Apparently when accounts are merged the longest standing account remains and the other one is cancelled. This is all in order, HOWEVER, is appears that the accounts were merged, but the money was not, as he paid his licence last year and I now have an outstanding amount of R344, 50 on mine. What happened to the licence money paid on his account? Why was it not allocated to my account??
