100 percent customer service

On Old Years Day I found myself in Hermanus, and my car had blown a coil. I was a travelling on my own and needed to get back to Cape Town. Not one garage or service station in Hermanus could assist me, telling me that everything was already closed and coils would need to be ordered from Cape Town.

The last time my car broke down in Somerset West, with my dogs in the car, on my way to Napier, I limped into the first garage i saw which was Auto Works. On that occasion they quickly replaced a coil (using a 2nd hand one they had lying around) and sent me on my way without charging me.

With this in mind, I called them to ask if they could assist me on Old Years Day, if i could get there. YES they said! Come as quick as you can. "What if i break down though... do you think I'll make it over the pass? ". "Call us if you get stuck" they said.

I got there eventually and they immediately got to work. An hour later (after running diagnostics, cleaning spark plugs and replacing a coil) i was ready to go. The owner (forgot name) refused to invoice me. He said "just give me R300 cash for New Years drinks for the guys". This I imagine was a R2K job!
