On two separate occasions I have been over quoted by the Landy Centre. The first time they tried to over charge me I wrote to them explaining that the Land Rover Cape Town franchise with it's expensive building and all it's overheads offered far better prices but I like to support small businesses and wanted to give them my business.

They shaved a few hundred off their quote but still more expensive. The second time was worse. They wanted to charge nearly R30 000 to fix a damaged diff they I ended up paying R7000 (parts and labour) to get fixed at the official Land Rover dealer in Cape Town. When I tried to get my car back from them they insisted on R1000 for diagnosing the problem and would not return the keys until I had paid. When I took the car to the dealer they diagnosed the problem (I did not mention that it had already been diagnosed) with no charge.

I phoned the owner to appeal my case and to request a refund but it fell on deaf ears. I can no longer support The Landy Centre Tokai and would recommend to all reading this to use the official franchise instead.
