Debiting my bank account without my knowledge

Longain Group deducted money from my bank account. I phoned them to findout and they told me that their system crashed on the 15th November 2013, when it was activated it pulled my Bank Account as an active account and they promised to refund me after 2days, I am still waiting.
How on earth can people play around with my banking account?
