On 29th of August I phoned Paula for directions to submit a warranty claim to Gedore South Africa for a 5-tier tool box that is unserviceable due to rust and corrosion. The toolbox was handed in to Bongani who was to send it to Durban for replacement. The hammer finish blue paint has also lifted over much of the surface. It is also clear that NO undercoat was used to seal the metal before the paint was sprayed. Also, I assert that inferior mild steel was used for the continuous hinge on the lid that has rusted fast. Also the underside of the tool box has rusted because the metal has not been undercoated. Gedore advertise a lifetime warranty on their tools! My warranty claim has been rejected by Gedore Durban Head Office saying that it appears as if the toolbox was left out in the rain. The fact is that it has been in my garage ALL its life. This means that the only other conclusion is that THE PRODUCT IS AN INFERIOR QUALITY just like all the other Gedore ratchets that were lying on the floor waiting to be sent to Durban for claims. I wonder how many of these claims have been honoured without excuses for rejection by Gedore? Paula / Bongani, please respond!
