Bare patches developed on the roof and bonet of my 2007 Mitsubishi Triton 4x4. It was reported at the service on 25 04 2013 to John Vicker the service adviser at Mitsubishi Midrand for follow up. Mitsubishi SA didn't even call to inspect the vehicle. The response a week later was sorry the paint warranty on our vehicles is 3 years. I had to have my Mitsubishi Triton resprayed at my cost after only 6 years. The panel beaters comments were the paint was inferior quality and base coat and clear coat was far too thin. Plascon have given me a 10 YEAR WARRANTY ON THE PAINT. I believe the reason why the South African consumers pay such ridiculous prices for cars and get such poor warranties is because companies such as McCarthy Group are allowed to hold far too many Motor Franchises. They can then control the car prices and the poor warranties that they provide, while they get richer. I had two Mitsubishi Rodeo's before the Triton and never had a problem with paint on them. Also the warranty given by MMNA (North America) is far better than that given by Mitsubishi South Africa! David, from Mitsubishi Head Office, Warranty Department, what do you have to say?
