My Big Boy DTR-250 motorbike is still under warranty. After washing it, it stopped running, and the dealer found water in the petrol tank and carb. This could only have got there due to a faulty seal or seals somewhere, yet the dealer - Big Boy Malibongwe - refuses to honour this as a warranty claim because he says he can't tell how the water got in the petrol tank; I could have opened it and filled it with water.
I am a little upset at being charged to drain the water, but I am incensed that the replacement of a faulty seal is not covered by the warranty. What other stories do these dealers use to avoid warranty claims?
