On the 2nd Of July when we returned from work we found our lights cut off, only our house in that area.we contacted eskom call centre where a job card was logged ref no:98045966, we were informed that a technician would be dispatched between 4-6 hours and no one came, the job card closed @ 00:53 on the 03rd. I logged another call ref no:98053463, a technician was dispatched and could not fix the issue and advised us to go tho the Eskom diepkloof offices to enquire as we might have been cut off in error. When we got to the offices we were informed that our lights were connected Illegally and Reconnectio fee is R2400.00. when i asked the following questions: if it is an Illegal connection how is Eskom billing us month to month, how are they getting theri meter reading, we have been staying in that house since 1985 & no one has ever mentioned Illegal conection. Another job was logged ref no:98119432 and we were told a technician would come, only to be told the job was closed with Message client's fault. The technician did not putch up. When i called the Technician who iniatilly referefed us to Eskom said he never mentioned Illegal connection and we should be connected. NO LIGHTS.
