Good quality but rubbish

I have just confirmed that the Bobbin case for my Empisal Compal Opus Model 845 cannot be replaced as the part is no longer manufactured. So now what... throw it in the bin? Frustrated! Paid R450 for a service and it cant even be used further...:-( ouch! What an amazing unit but so useless and worthless... it should actually have been priceless!
