I took early retirement on the 10th of June 2013. All my forms were completed and submitted to the fund on the 23rd May 2013 with a request to the adviser to let me know if all was in order. I had no feedback at the time.
On the 20th June 2013, I received an SMS stating that there was a problem which I rectified and returned the documents on the same day. I find this totally unacceptable that it takes almost a month to look at the documents never mind process.
I enquired at to when payment would be received and was advised by Eugene Smit, Senior Benefit Adviser, that I would have to wait until August, which is putting me into a very serious predicament as who can survive three months without any income? I certainly can't.
I will be contacting the FSB and posting on all Social Media Platforms as this is not acceptable at all and needs to be rectified as soon as possible and I hope that others retirees in the Mining Industry do not suffer the same fate.
