Liberty Life
Waiting four years for a payout

3 years I've been trying to get my payment to a pension fund held by Liberty Life, to be told today that I had to wait another 50 days. Permission for the payout was finally given on the 20th of April 2013. The cover letter said that the payout will be made shortly. I had to get a lawyer to assist me in this issue by this time! On the 25th they send forms to complete, which I did and returned promptly. A week later the lawyer requested a date of payment, they informed him that it takes 50 work days. We calculated it to be around the 7th of June. On the 15th of May while I was in ICU in hospital, they alarmed my lawyer that my tax number is incorrect. I was released from hospital on the 23rd and on the 24th confirmed that my tax number was indeed correct. This tax number issue continued until the 6th of June when it was confirmed that the tax number is mine, but it was a tax directive that was placed on number. This was rectified immediately by an accountant. I call the call centre number today to explain what had happened only to hear the words: "You know you have to wait 50 days." Do they throw out claims that have problems? Why did it take a month to see the problem?
