I recently had an e-mail from Multidex saying it is time to service the Multi-Dex System 2000 (waterproofing) that they installed three years ago. With that they sent a quote for the servicing that was roughly 25% of the original price. This quote seemed to be excessive and I didn't respond to it as I could not afford such an expensive service.
Last week I received a further correspondence warning me that if I didn't do the service, they will cancel the guarantee / warranty. To this I responded via e-mail saying that I'm not prepared to pay 25% of the original cost just for a service. Mr. Botha subsequently phoned to inform me in no uncertain terms that they will now cancel the guarantee / warranty. This was followed up this morning with a third strongly worded letter stating the cancellation.
To me it is just strange that a company can charge anything they want for a so-called service and if you don't agree to this, they try debt collection tactics and just withdraw any responsibility.
Although their initial service was good, it is my opinion that their pseudo-strong-arm tactics, after-sales service and attitude is exactly the opposite. Beware of their so-called warranty.
