Seems I have fallen victim to the same story as hundreds of other sods moaning here. My parcel RQ134033460SG has been swallowed by the big old black hole at the center of the galaxy called JHB INTERNATIONAL MAIL CENTER. From responses on this site I picked up that one need to somehow guess you need to fax the price details of the goods to 0865581252 if you see your parcel is stuck at JIMC with a notice 'Record item customs information'. That in itself is brain dead as its simply luck if you manage to figure this out. So, I faxed the details to this number and succeeded after numerous attempts. This however did nothing for my parcel and its still stuck in the same place with the same notice. I think perhaps JIMC and SARS shares a fax machine where the output goes directly into a shredder freeing up some time for the officials that had to react to the fax to sleep a bit more. We're up a creak without a paddle in South Africa; that's for sure.
Maybe someone at JIMC can give me the details of where the black market for goods travelling through JIMC is hosted so I can try and buy back my parcel on that market before some other stooge manages to pick it up for an apple and onion.
