I am so angry with discovery in the beginnng of the year i decided that i needed to upgarde my medical aid to a better plan because i needed better benefits my premium went up alot but i was prepared to pay for it. i then go to the doctor and i need to go for a operation which i had last week tuesday, the doctor is contracted out of medical aid rates which i have no problem with and i understand that i have to pay him upfront and then submit to the medical aid i had no problem with that, but im so angry cause apparantly on the "classic priority plan" i have to pay R4700 upfront to the clinc because the procedure i went for there is co payment NO ONE ever explained to me that i have this co payment to pay first. last year june i went in for the exact operation with a LOWER plan and everything was covered 100% please can someone explain to me how this works i pay more and get less hospital benefits seems very unfair to me... next year when it comes to changing a plan im going on another medical aid, i am so disappointed in the way that i was never told about the co payment.
