Discovery Health
Conflicting information

I recently had my wisdom teeth removed in hospital. Upon getting authorisation for the procedure I was informed by the Dr's office I had to pay an admission fee of R3650.00, and was asked if i still wanted to go ahead. I then phoned the Discovery helpline confused. The consultant that helped confirmed I had to pay the amount but if I had enough savings available I could claim the money back. I had enough. The following day I phoned again to find out if there was anything I needed from the hospital or Dr to make sure my claim was complete. This consultant told me that I can't claim the money back. I then queried her and she said there is a special claim form she can send me but it's not always accepted..Now i'm obviously upset because I've since told the Dr we can go ahead with the surgery as planned. Later I phoned Discovery again and another consultant answered and said that the form is unnecessary- i was misinformed. It's simple, all I do is email them my receipt of payment with all the Dr's, main member and patient details. After not hearing from Disc after emailing them, I phoned today and was told I was misinformed and can't claim?! This is unnacceptable! Who do I speak too?
