My daughter was admitted to Hospital on Friday. I went to visit her and spent about 2 hours with her knowing that when I leave I get my parking ticket stamped and I don't pay for parking. To my amazement I was told that I had to pay for the parking. Now since then my daughter has been moved to icu and I visit her twice a day and have to pay for parking on each occasion. I think that as a parent and with the high rates that is charged for a private hospital that is ridiculous and not to say that the service is worth it either or justifies itself. Since when has health care become a money making business? I am disgusted with Umhlanga Hospital but what can I do as my daughter needs treatment.
