My Son was diagnosed with Acute Otitis Media which are are PMB. We realized this only a while back. I phoned discovery and the gentleman were very keen to assist me. He emailed me the out of hospital form for the Dr to complete. We send the documentation to discovery for approval.
When the approval came back only one consultation was approved. I do not understand why they would only pay for the one consultation and not the follow up. And why do they not cover the medicine. Does discovery then only allow diagnoses and no treatment management. Why must I pay for the meds out of my savings. I understand if the medicine is not on formulary but at least discovery should pay a allowable amount and not make me pay for the medicine alone. And still our saving has not even been credited for the one accepted claim.
