Medical aid benefits misleading / poor cust servic

I recently gave birth via emergency c section. I was aware that my gyneacologist was charging above momentum rates and was more than happy to pay the balance of her fees as it was a personal choice (I would suggest looking into your preferred suppliers as lists sent to me were outdated and call agents clearly dont have a clue where sandton, johannesburg is. I had to phone several times and emails were not responded to). I do however now sit with bills from both my pediatrician and anesthetist as this was not covered in full. I used a hospital outlined for my plan so surely in an emergency situation I have absolutely no control on the practitioners mentioned above? Do I stop all procedures and risk my baby's health to now find out which practitioners to use (which would have taken several hours if not days if I had to call the call centre or sent an email). The doctors used were the only available at the time so what choice did I have? I incidentally phoned a few days before the procedure to find out where I stand with the gynea and hospital and specifically asked if there are any other charges I should be aware of and was told no. Surely this should have been mentioned?
