I am Philadelphia i am a dependant on my husband discovery health medical aid. i have a chronic disease and in chronic pain, currently, the medical aid is refusing to cover for hormonal medication that makes me feel better it is not giving me a choice instead it forces me to use other medication that does not make me feel better, what confuses me is that it pays for the same medications for other clients. I'm not sure if i have to be of a certain race to be covered, or what? my health is getting complicated daily, discovery is deducting monthly but we do not benefit, why have a medical aid then, they do not pay for all the bloods related to my illness I'm frustrated..
I wonder what is the medical council saying about all the complaints i read about for Discovery, what happened to the medical fraternity preserving lives? Is profit the only thing that matters now versus human life? i wonder what happened to the oath that doctors and pharmacists took when qualifying to save lives. I'm disappointed that the government is all doing nothing to save ordinary south africans from these greedy medical aids that are responsible for deaths that they suppose to prevent. help...
