Discovery has decided to withdraw all funding for my much needed medication. I suffer from a motor neuron, auto immune disease, Myasthenia Gravis and medication is required to keep me stable. The disease can be fatal. Discovery Health admitted to retracting funding beause we have elevated the complaints to the Medical Schemes Council for their lack of payment of one of the meds and related treatments. I have applied for out of hospital management of a PMB condition which has been motivated accordingly by the Neurologist and G.P. Discovery has now withdrawn all medication because a fellow MG sufferer has also logged a dispute against them. The interesting thing to note as that neither of us have been examined by Discovery specialist and they only get consultation from GP's regarding our case. Who are they to 'play ' with our lives. How did they manage to get rated as one of the best medical aids in South Africa? Obviously by being unethical and from their members. Stress makes MG worse - thanks Discovery for making me even more sick than I already am!! If only each of you could experience my disease for a few hours... how different the outcome would be.
