Resolution Health Medical Scheme
DOUBLE PREMIUM DEDUCTION FOR LAPSED COVER

I doubt I'll get any sympathy from Resolution Health but I find myself highly frustrated with their vague "Rules of the Scheme". All of their material refers to things being subject to the "Rules of the Scheme" yet no amount of Googling can actually help me find these rules.

After starting my own business I advised my broker in Nov 2012 that I needed to cancel my medical aid as I was not yet sure how things would go financially. I was told I needed to give 30 days notice so I just left the matter there as I really needed to stop the December debit from going through.

Dec, Jan and Feb's debits all failed and I accepted that cover would automatically lapse after 2 failed debits. Well, to my shock a double debit was deducted from my account on 01/03/13. That money was meant for my car and now MFC are threatening to repo it if I don't pay them by Monday, 18/03. My broker told me, when I thought I only had 2 failed debits, that RH only cancel cover after 3, but when I checked my statements I saw that I already had 3 fails. My bank won't stop the debit without a letter from RH and in the meantime I'm losing my car. Does RH make up their own rules and cancel only when it suites them?
