Have been with other Medical Scheme, working for government we had to move to Gems, because of contribution of government. Sorry I thought optical works from January to January every 2 years - apparently not, I paid for the eye test myself. In 2011 one of my lenses broke, phoned Gems, no I still had enough of my benefits to have it replaced - did so.
Today I phoned them for my new benefits, I can get a frame and an eye test (already paid for myself), but I must wait for November to get lenses - now how does this make sense? I thought the lens replacement in 2011 came from that year's benefit. What the do I do with a frame without lenses?
While I am on it, benefits for dentistry is ridiculous, do they know how much a pair of dentures cost? Apparently not. You can write to them, outcome always negative. Sorry but Gems is going downhill but you pay more and get less... doesn't it sound familiar? Not happy at all. This is a joke, a frame without lenses.
