Shocking Service

We recently attended a wedding in Hartswater and stayed at Barons Galley and Lodge, which allegedly is a 4* B&B. We were received by the front desk manager who wasn't organized with the booking. Once we were in our rooms, it became clear that this was not a 4* lodge. The rooms were dirty, the sheets were stained and the showers and bathrooms looked as if they hadn't seen Handy Andy in quite some time. When it came time to get ready for the wedding, everyone who stayed in the main part of the lodge did not have hot water at all. The next morning at breakfast, there was one lady who was cooking eggs for about 20 people. When one of our party went to dish up, she was no longer there so he had to cook his own eggs. The owner got upset and when it was explained to him as to why guests have to cook their own breakfast, the reason given was that they were quiet and there was no need to have more than one person cooking breakfast. The lodge was fully booked. While voicing our concerns to the owner, he had a "don't-care" attitude. He even went as far as swearing and screaming at guests. I don't know where he got his other 3, 5* but obviously he has friends in high places. AVOID!!!
