After being assured that Selfmed is the way to go especially when one falls pregnant I happily signed up. Have been with them since May 2012, currently I am pregnant and have been to my gynaecologist and have received a quotation from him for consultations and birth. I duly submitted this to Selfmed and to my horror they pay half of all the consultations (this I can still accept) but only pay a QUARTER of the cost for the birth.
Upon querying this with them I received an email filled with big words but the jist of it was a slap in the face. I would be very interested to see what calibre of doctor charges a client R2832.80 for a cesserian and R2682.20 for natural birth.
Seriously unimpressed and this whole experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Would you find this acceptable if it were you?
