My fiance, 17 month old son and myself went to Hideaway in December to "get away from it all." Unfortunately we chose to go to this "resort" which was a huge let down! The chalet was filthy, the bar nor restaurant wasn't open once during our stay, we booked a game drive and as we got there we were told that we were the only people who had booked so we couldn't go-unless we wanted to pay for 6 people! REALLY?!! We had planned our whole day around this, only to be let down at the last minute! I wouldn't even bath in the chalet it was that dirty-I went to the campsite showers which were at least slightly better-and I could wear flip flops so I didn't have to touch the floor! We were told when booking that we were in a self catering chalet separate from the others, only to arrive to a "flat-like" room on top of our neighbours... you could almost hear them snoring through the walls!! I have never complained about anything like this before but felt I needed to about Hideaway. Even if I save one family from wasting their time and money going there it will be enough!!!
