I just want to understand why it would take an hour for a doctor to see a patient that is having a stroke. Patient arrived via ambulance at casualties 20:00. First was it a debate between the nurses and paramedics on whether it was communicated that they are going there, paramedics said yes they tried several times. After being admitted, it took an hour for a doctor to see patient after I had to enquiry. It took another hour to do blood work and a scan. Medication for dissolving the blood cloth was finally administered around 23:00-23:30. The waiting area at casualties was empty, yes there was other patients, but in resuscitation area it was only my dad. 2 Doctors was sitting behind the desk, busy on the PC?? He had a big stroke and was very anxious. It can't believe that this is the urgency you treat a stroke patient with. Doesn't every minute count? The longer the blockage remain, the more damaged. I am very disappointed in the treatment we received at Rosepark casualties last night. Might be just another patient to you, but it is my father.
