Liberty Medical Scheme
NO SERVICE

I joined the scheme from November 2012 and they imposed a three month waiting period on my benefits. During December I was admitted to ICU as an emergency. Legally, the scheme is obliged to pay for any emergency during the waiting period. My family was forced to pay cash for my admission as the scheme refused to authorise the admission. Now, a month and a half later, I am still struggling to get my money from them and they just keeping making excuses why they are ignoring the law. My benefits kicked today and I needed to get authorisation for a procedure to correct the condition that led to the admission in the first place. Once again, the scheme has clever excuses and long winded procedures but won't release authorisation.

Don't put your life in the hands of this scheme, they are only interested in your premiums. At least they are named correctly, "Scheme" being very apt.
