Disgusted dissatisfied disappointed

After a financial setback August 2013. We could not afford our September medical vitality premium of R4982 (total paid 2013= R34 874) only gone to gp few times.phoned call centre, pleeded to downgrade and catch up arrears amount. They refused to help and the consultant told me that it would be better to let it lapse and reapply. I followed his advice as surely he knows what he is talking about. Our policy lapsed. We reaplied it took time for acceptance and approval and deciding on a plan that we can afford. Resulting in a break in cover. A break that wouldn't have occurred if discovery was available or prepared to help us, If I had recieved proper advice from their consultants. For us as a family vitality and virgin active was our main reason for going with discovery.we have been at virgin active for several months paid our joining fees and our monthly gym membership fees on time. Discovery health and vitality are now forcing us to repay joining fees of R975 X2 plus card fees for kids R110 X2 at virgin active. Still in a financial crisis we cant afford this. I am so sad and feel bullied. The company cares only for itself. I regret going with them and trusting them to take care of
