So I'm sick today. And naturally when sick I need to see a doctor. I'm out of medical savings but on a classic saver plan I can supposedly see a network doctor even when I'm out of savings (one of the main reasons in choose this plan over the other medical aids). With this in mind I phone discovery to find out what I should do on a Saturday when all medical practices are closed. Obviously I can go to a hospital casualty and see a doctor there. Not so obviously after all. All they were willing to do is give me a list of practices to phone, which they didn't do by the way. No information on hospitals or doctors with extended hours etc.
The ons guy tells me that medical aid is all about benefits, and if I don't have a benefit, they can't help me. Well in this case I have the benefit, they've just made it impossible to access.
Long live Saturday sickness, take care of yourself till Monday when you will probably have to miss work for a few days to get yourself fixed.
With discovery I constantly feel as if I have to extort them and work for every bit of benefit or service I get from them. It's tiring.
So how much Disprin can fix flu and throat infection? Anyone?
