In Jan I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis. I followed up about twice a week for about 5-6 months on my application for PMB.No one could give me a clear answer why meds was not approved. I was told a different reason every time I called, that the meds my dr prescribed must be available at a state hospital, state hospital confirmed in writing that this meds is available to state patients. They told me this medication cannot be approved I must get the doctor be prescribe generic medication and so on. I went for a second option with a Proffesor. Not once could someone at Discovery give me a clear answer. I begged and cried every time I phoned. I then contacted our company Broker. She managed to get "some" of the diagnostic test paid. I thought that being with Discovery I will be looked after in a situation like this. Having to cope with the limitations of this illness and having to fight the medical aid does not help my situation? MG can be a life threatening decease if not treated? Without my medication, will Discovery help me in an emergency with this illness?? Does it have to go that far?
