In 2010 I depleted my savings in July. My self payment gap was then R10 987.35.By October 2010 I had paid R10 987.35 out of my pocket in medical fees which I had claimed for, but still my self payment gap was not closed. I ended up paying Over R20 000 before Discovery closed my self payment gap in December 2010.
Over R10 000 is therefore unaccounted for.
That means I was robbed of over R10 000 by Discovery plain and simple.
To date I have sent numerous emails, spoken to numerous consultants and even escalated this issue to customer relations, all of whom say the exact same bs and fail to help. They blabber on about codes and over the counter meds but they do not look at the facts and figures. Their very own spread sheet detailing claims in 2010 prove them wrong.
Today Discovery wants me to pay a thousand rand allegedly owed from 2010 before they will add my new beneficiaries! When I call the customer line I was kept on hold for over 40 minutes! I then called back but the consultant simply could not understand that I paid over R20 000 to close a self payment gap of R10 000. I had to take her step by step thru her Own spreadsheet for over 30 mins before she finally understood!
