My mum was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure in 2010, her nephrologist registered her for PMB in 2010 since then all her medication has been coming out of our medical savings account, medicine that according to the medical aid and PMB they should be paying for, now she had a surgery done (had a fistula put in her arm in MArch) which her Renal coordinating team authorised with Discovery not us, now they are saying that we authorised it and they did mention that we arent using DSPs but as far as the Cms says if we involuntarily use a non DSP they still have to cover in full now we have had to put in a complaint by CMS but still Discovery is giving the run around even though with the 28 page complaint all the relevant information was there, now they have depleted our savings account with all the PMB medicine and surgery costs, and mym cant get more medicine as they say the savings is depleted and she cant get het weekly blood test done as the medical aid only covers UNDER PMB 6 blood tests a year, my mums kidneys are at 3.5% she is suppose to be on dialysis but we cant afford it. I am at wits end with the medical aid.
