Wife and I stayed at Hippo Hollow recently. That night we found the challet had no hot water. Excuses and promises were made but no hot water. At 22:00 I again contacted the desk and was told that they can transport my wife and I to another facility to go and wash there. I declined. Next morning still no hot water. Again the offer was made to collect our stuff and be taken to another facility to go and wash there. Again I declined. Upon checking out - I found after the fact that Hippo Hollow debited my c/card with the full amount. I complained since the luxuary accommodation etc etc was definitely not forthcoming. Nor was teh facilities. the GM did not budge and offered me a 20% discount. I strongly declined this. The matter was reported to my c/card company (FNB) FNB failed to look after my interests and without my consent agreed to refund me 20%. In short STAY AWAY FROM HIPPO HOLLOW AND AVOID CONTACT WITH THE GM AT ALL COSTS. Ther are many other likeable spots in Hazyview. Hippo Hollow is NOT!!!
