HIPPO'S AUTOMATED STALKER CALLS

If you think Hippo will make your life easier, think again. Instead of asking three suppliers to contact me with quotes, I asked Hippo to get me quote. Their automated dialling system called me FOUR times today - 08h52, 15h31, 15h47 and 16h03 - I only spoke to a consultant ONCE because that was the only call with a consultant on the other end of the line. The other calls all connected to the booming silence of automation gone wrong. I was understandably irritated by the last call and explained to the Hippo rep what had happened, to which he responded (equally irritated): "so do you still want me to tell you the quotes? " I said 'no thanks' and we hung up. Two minutes later, I received a spam sms offering me dental insurance gap cover... If you ever wonder where companies get your contact details to spam/ harass you, look no further than online services like Hippo. In retrospect, I wish I'd just asked 3 companies to quote me directly (1) I'd have had the same level of irritation (2) I'd have the information by now!
