My dad 88 years of age, have been paying for Key Care Plus for the last 10 years. Now that he needs help with an ambulance, we are notified the medical plan does not cover the ambulance. We are living in the country 300 km from Cape Town. He is bed ridden and can only be transported by ambulance. We do not have the money to pay for an ambulance. Why do Discovery take premiums from clients living in the country well knowing the Key Care Plus-plan is of no use! The nearest hospital prescribed by Discovery is Milnerton hospital. Far away from his family. What a futile waste of money!! For dental care he needs to go to towns far distant from where we live. Petrol costs are more than the premiums he has to pay monthly. If you live in the country, Discovery medical aid schemes have very little to offer. They try to sell you Vitality options which is of no benefit when living in the country. Please beware of this rip off.
