I stayed at this establishment for a conference from the 17th - 20th September 2013. On the day I checked out I was delayed because I was doing a keynote address at the conference. In my rush to check out left my sunglasses and a green leather pouch with electronics cables behind. I called the hotel and spoke to lost and found department. They undertook to call me back which never happened. I again called on the 22nd September 2013 at 12h43 and was told that they would call me back in ten minutes. This also never happened so I again called at 17h54 and spoke to Petrus. He promised to call back and did so on the 23rd September 2013 only to tell me that they never found anything in my room. This is very disappointing as I know that I left my stuff behind by mistake. I specifically put it in the wardrobe because it was expensive and valuable articles. I at least expected some honesty and the safekeeping of my property as a guest. I am concerned as a SA citizen as this can happen to foreign visitors and will create a bad impression of our country. I shall obviously never stay there again and it will not recommend it as conference venue or place to stay.
