Life Healthcare
Patient not cared for adequately

My grandmother is admitted in HC/ICU.
1) Doctors orders not carried out
2) General nursing not done - no feeding on 2 occasions, pressure care delayed
3) Change in condition ignored by nursing personnel
4) Oral hygiene ignored for 4 days
5) Physician attending to her does not communicate with family, nursing staff
6) Condition of patient and management plan not communicated at shift changes to nurses and therefore not to family

I am a doctor with experience in critical care and have on 3 occasions had to demand urgent intervention i.e. for CPAP, fluid management, cardiac ischaemia with nursing staff REFUSING to do so.

I have had 3 meetings with unit manager and matrons on duty with the slack attitude persisting throughout her thus far 10 day stay in the unit.

This is not a hospital I would ever recommend to anyone to attend as a patient or work in.
As proof of my allegations I have been taking photos of her clinical condition and notes. I have been verbally abused by the matron on duty for doing so, before she bothered to find out why I feel a need to document the poor and negligent care my grandmother is receiving. What else does she want to hide?
