Member had hospital plan with Fedhealth. The policy was cancelled during February 2013 because of the fact that the member was unemployed and could not afford the monthly premiums. On the date of cancellation there was some money in a savings fund which must be refunded to the member in August. when we asked about the process they asked for a ID and bank statement, which we got. when we called again to find out about a fax number they told us they need an affidavit from the person that he has no medical aid. We were not told this initially. The member has no car, no transport and is very sick. he must now go to a police station for an affidavit. Why were we not told about this in the first place then we could have done everything on one day. It seems as if Fedhealth is just trying to hold onto the money. They can clearly see from their records that the policy was cancelled. Why all this nonsense. I insist that his money is transferred to his account as the money belongs to him.
