MISLEADING OF CONSUMERS

I JOINED FEDHEALTH ON THE 1 OF JUNE 2013, I PAID MY PREMIUMS UP TO DATE, I WAS ON FEDHEALTH UP TO DECEMBER 2012. I COULD NOT CONTINUE WITH MY MEDICAL AID BECAUSE OF FINANCIAL PROBLEMS.I JOINED THEM AGAIN ON JUNE 2013.I TOOK THE MEDICAL AID OUT FROM A CONSULTANT FROM FEDHEALTH, I HAD A HERNIA OPERATION AND THE CONSULTANT EXPLAIN TO ME THAT THERE WILL BE AN EXCLUSION FOR THIS FOR 12 MONTHS.HE NEVER EXPLANED TO ME THAT THERE WILL BE A WAITING PERIOD FOR THREE MONTHS BECAUSE I WAS NOT ON A MEDICAL AID FOR LAST SIX MONTHS.MY QUESTION... WHY DO I THEN PAY MY MEDICAL AIDS MONTHLY CONTRIBUTION FOR THREE MONTHS IF I DONT HAVE ANY COVER, NOT EVEN IF THIS IS FOR AN EMERGENCY.WHY WOULD ONE PAY FOR SOMETHING IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY BENEFIT... THE CONSULTANT CONFIRMED THAT HE DID NOT EXPLAIN THIS TO ME BUT THAT I DID SIGN FOR THIS IN THE AGREEMENT... AGAIN, IF THIS IS SO IMPORTANT, WHY WAS THIS NOT EXPLAINED TO ME.I BROKE MY HAND ON FRIDAY, THERE WAS NOBODY AT FEDHEALTH TO ASSIST ME UP TO MONDAY BECAUSE OF A HOLIDAY AND WEEKEND.MY CLAIM IS STILL REJECTED FROM FEDHEALTH.PLEASE ASSIST ME.
