My Virgin Active gym membership was cancelled because I did not make the minimum required visitors in a rolling period of 30 - i had 29 visits. I was sick for a whole month and the doctor advised me not to go to gym. The day before the cut -off date I went to the Virgin Active Morningside about 5mins before closing time and I wasn't allowed to enter the premises. I have been a member of the medical aid for 10 years as well as Virgin Active -- and I don't appreciate the way I was treated. I was even told Dr. Craig Nossel would get back to me which did not happen (as expected). Discovery think that because they are the biggest medical aid in SA they can dictate to the very people who give them their billions sitting in their net reserves. Now I have to pay a gym fee and other costs for the gym yet I have been a member for that long. I was even told that thy would only accept my reason if I was terminally ill :(
