Medi-Clinic
Childrens Ward - rude staff

My 1 year old baby boy were admitted to Medi Clinic with rota virus on Tuesday, 22 July. My husband and I stayed with him day and night for two days while he was treated for vomiting and diarrhoea. On the third day my husband had to go back to work and I was left to take care of him alone. I asked my mother to come and help me out at the hospital as I was so stressed and tired and needed her support in the place of my husband who had to go back to work. The staff came to our room and explained that it wasn't visiting hours and only one person is allowed to stay with him. We explained that my mother is in the place of my husband, but they didn't want to hear it. They were very rude and explained that this was the rules and regulations. I eventually burst out in tears, as i was very emotional after almost no sleep and all the stress. They didn't even have a bit of compassion or understanding for the situation and demanded that one of us must leave. Also the other nights when the grandparents came for visiting hour, the nurse / matron didn't want to open the ward door for them, because they were 5 minutes early and she was very rude.
