Unacceptable level of service

I had an appointment on the 15th of June with a very friendly and competent optometrist. She was to arrange me a trial pair contact lenses. Two weeks later on the 29th of June after no feedback from Spec Savers i personally went into the store to enquire about my lenses. I was then told about some issue with the supplier and the lady confirmed that she would contact me within the next ten minutes to confirm when the delivery will take place. I phoned today on 10 July to be told that they are in store i can come collect. The lady claims to have phoned and sms'd me which i have record of neither. The cold, callous and non proactive level of service leaves a lot to be desired. In the electronic age its the easiest thing to hide behind "calls" and "sms's". I have voicemail and cannot miss a sms. In my view it is a cop out. Unfortunately the team is as strong as the weakest member.
