I am a discovery member and i have diabetes, i went to endocrinologist who prescribed Victoza for my health reasons but discovery refuse to approve on chronic after letters sent by my doctor for motivation. I cannot therefore afford R1900 -per month for my medication as my saviings is finished. Discovery is happy to take the money out of my savings monthly but wont help me with a better lifestyle allowing me to have my medication that my specialist has prescribed. We pay alot of money for medical but they dont seem to want to help members so live a better lifestyle isnt that why we go to specialist for advice but have to constantly fight with discovery so i can have my medication to make me feel better and live a better life style but they will rather wait for my body to deteriorate because i cant get my medication. my savings wont last very long if i have to pay this amount monthly and we are 3 in the family. My husband also went to discovery offices in sandton but nobody is prepared to help get my medicine approved on chronic.
