My Father, Amos Saul, applied for medical aid cover for himself & my mother, during February 2013.
We stipulated on the application form that they can deduct the monthly contribution every 15th of the month. the reason therefor is that he has his own business and draws a salary only every 2nd week of every month.i called Bonitas at the end of February, seeing that there were no communication from there side. i spoke to an agent who explained everything to me regarding the plan that they have chosen. nothing was mentioned about the date of payment, so i assumed that everything is in order. Middle March/April 2013, my father got a sms notification that Bonitas want to deduct over R11 000.00, but it was rejected due to insufficient funds. i immediately called them again and ask why are they requesting such a large amount. the person explained to me that the request to pay the 15th of every month was not permitted. i explained to this person that no one came back to either me or my father to tell us. My father cancelled his plan with immediate effect. Even after this they still trying to deduct this money every month, leaving my Dad with a bad credit record!
