Unsatisfactory wheelchair assistance & explanation

Monday July 1 2013 I went to drop my mother off at the Life Fourways Hospital for kidney dialysis as always. I asked for wheelchair assistance as always as my mom is partially disabled & uses a walking stick. The security guard at the door told us push the wheelchair ourselves. I was shocked as this has never happened before, there has always been someone at the door ready & willing to assist her with the wheelchair. When I enquired at the info desk they told me it was policy for patients to push their own wheelchairs. If this is true then I am truly shocked & appalled by your service, even at the airport they assist passengers push the wheelchairs. Previous occasions there was always a person that helped my mother get to the kidney unit & back to the entrance when she was done, this man provided a superior service compared to what I found on Monday & he deserves a raise or at least a mention for his compassion & service that greatly enhanced your hospital. When I came to fetch my mother I found her having to walk herself to the entrance in her weakened state after dialysis, luckily there was a nurse as shocked as i was that helped us get a wheelchair. Not happy
