Our savings account was depleted a month ago. We opted to use Discovery's Health Wallet to ease the payment of service providers. We chose the option to not transfer money into the wallet but to link our discovery card to it so that payments go of against the card directly. What a lovely idea, EXCEPT IT DOESNT WORK! After various attempts to get this working we deposited money into wallet and all the claims was re-submitted AGAIN. All but one claim was paid in the end. After the SEVENTH time the claim was resubmitted, we received a message saying: we didn't pay you claim, please pay your service provider if you haven't done so already. After phone call number, sorry I lost count, we were assured that there was a system error but it was fixed now and they assure us we will be eighth time lucky. In good faith we waited till this morning and when the claim was still not resubmitted we phoned AGAIN only to be told that claims of which Discovery paid a part out of hospital benefits cant be paid out of the health wallet. Now we need to pay R2450 out of our pockets to the service provider after already depositing enough to cover the claim into the health wallet!
