I made an application for my son for medical aid as he is now too old to be on his dads medical aid. However, the first application was never processed and I had to submit a second one. A month later I still struggle to get feedback as the application is not in my name. This weekend my son was in an accident and needed urgent medical care. I had to pay cash as the membership was not activated. When I spoke to them today, I was told thatthe request has been sent through to the underwriters. They say that the acceptance letter was sent to me on the 31st of last month but I never received Iit. They also claimed that they told my son to call back every 48 hours. They never did. Now my son needs an urgent operation and they come with a waiting period because he had the accident. They were supposed to put him on medical aid from the 1st of June as requested.
