My mother was hospitalised at Vereeniging - Medi-Clinic on various occasions during March 2013. On the last, 19 - 23 March she was kept in on doctors request for blood transfusion, internal bleeding & colon operation and apparently Sizwe rejected payment for certain treatment (R4545.60). It is unacceptable as I know for a fact, both medical aid and hospitals do have case managers to look after matters such as this. Easy to say the patient signed forms which is binding but surely these people should communicate to the extend to solve this issue. The lady "Isabelle @ Medi-Clinic" is very rude and not helpful. All she wants is payment instead of going back to the case manager and let them do their job properly. As for Sizwe... get said... some of this treatment can be given at home! Why would the doctor them keep the patient hospitalised if not necessary? Feedback to myself would be appreciated as my parents is of age.
