Early In May 2013, I received a letter from Medscheme telling me I owe them R325.10 and if I don't pay the outstanding amount - My benefits will be suspended. When I called the CC I spoke to Tebogo who explained that I owe them this amount since 2009/2010 but that this is the first time they informed me of it. They also confirmed that they refunded me money in my savings account amounting to over R1000.00 since then. I can't understand how I can owe them money in 2009 and yet in 2012 they refund me R1300.00. Furthermore I have not received a response to either my inital call or my follow up call. The reference for my follow up call is 200513QYGYKV. In my opnion, if I owe them R325.00 and they never informed me by now this debt is prescribed and if I do owe them they should just write it off. I am also frustrated that I have to take the tiem and effort to follow up continuously and no one is getting back to me.
